Phentermine as a Weight Loss Drug

Phentermine is a common prescription weight loss drug by physicians. Most people tend to seek out weight loss drugs that are on the counters of GNC, Walmart, and any other shopping center. However most never bother to go see a physician. Phentermine is a anorexigenic, or in otherwords an appetite suppressant. Most commonly its taken in the morning once a day, providing a decrease in appetite all day long. Phentermine is related to the amphetamine family so prescriptions tend not to last longer than 3 months since there is a small risk of addiction. The most common side effect is insomnia which is usually noticed if the drug is taken to late in the day. Caffeine should not be taken with drug to avoid overstimulating the central nervous system. This is a great a drug for anyone willing to put in three months of discplined weight loss.

Find Ways to Increase Your Activity!

Our society loves for us to either be comfortable or entertained requiring little to no activity. Whether it be watching T.V., playing video games, sitting at our comfy desk chair at work, or going out to events that merely ask us to sit and enjoy. In one publishing I found through the CDC is that the amount of time spent watching T.V. can be directly related to the degree of obesity a person has. The study showed that the rate of Obesity almost doubled in percent when comparing one group who watched one hour of t.v. everyday as compared to those who watched more than five hours a day. Not only does the amount of TV we watch affect us, but TV also predisposes us to want to snack. A snack is a perfectly healthy option, but when we are distracted by the television we have no way of monitoring how much we are actually taking in. Playing video games in my opinion is the lesser of two evils. Although video games is still a form of sitting and watching a screen, not having your hands free to snack is an effective way to avoid sitting and overeating at the same time.

I encourage anyone wanting to get in shape to keep a journal for at least a week. Record the amount of time you spend each day watching television, sitting in front of the computer, sitting at your job...etc and after a week go back and look at it. I am willing to bet that you will be surprised how much time is spent expending little or no physical energy. Next thing to do is write down what you love doing. I know many of us out there would love to go bowling on a friday night, go for a walk after a nice dinner, or enjoy a round of golf. Whatever it may be, start learning how to enjoy your life other than sitting and watching other people enjoy theirs.
